GEORGE WAHOME
George H Wahome serves as the Chair of the ICT Adhoc Committee, Secretary of the Business Development Committee, and a member of the Audit & Risk Committee within the Sacco. He joined the Board in 2024.
He is an astute Information and Cyber Security (ICS) professional and a change agent for a lasting positive impact. With over 15 years experience in the domains of ICT Service Operations, Consultancy and Systems Implementation in positions and roles of Technical Support, Lead Technical Consultant, Solutions Implementer and Architect, Project Manager and Senior Management across various industry verticals, that is; Telecommunications (Safaricom), Big 4 and Independent Consultancy (PwC, EY & Extant), Banking and Financial Services (NBK – a subsidiary of KCB).
With numerous successful consulting and implementation projects in Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Uganda, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan and South Africa, George has a proven track record of delivering value as an architect of a secure cyberspace, leading digital transformation change initiatives and building teams that can sustainably mature various facets of ICT, primarily in Banking and Financial Services Sector.
Additionally, he is a member of KBA ICT Risk and Security Sub-committee and has served as the ICT Chair at PCEA, Evergreen Parish between 2019 - 2021. George is passionately and purposely leading, and managing the intersection of strategic shifts in the IT industry; infrastructure, security and architecture.
George has undergone management and leadership training in the Netherlands, has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Technology from Maseno University, holds various industry certifications and has a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of the People, United States of America (USA).
