Karen Olege is a strategic Human Resource leader with over 12 years of progressive experience driving organizational excellence across Africa’s development and humanitarian sectors. She currently serves as Head of People & Culture for the Africa Region at Evidence Action, where she leads HR strategy and operations across eight countries. Her career includes senior HR roles at Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO) and KPMG East Africa.
Karen joined Qona Sacco in 2016, drawn by its vision of empowering ambitious, visionary Kenyans to lead meaningful lives. Through Toastmasters International, her YouTube channel “Career Growth with Karen,” professional coaching practice, mentorship in her church community, and board service with a youth leadership organization, she has consistently invested in helping ambitious individuals unlock their potential. Now, she seeks to bring this same passion to Qona’s board — ensuring the Sacco’s community and resources genuinely enable members to shape their futures with dignity and purpose.
Karen holds an MBA from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Science from Kenyatta University, and is currently pursuing doctoral studies in Leadership and Governance with a focus on institutional reform in African contexts.
She is a certified Senior Human Resource Professional (SHRM-SCP) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
